As I grew up, graduated and started earning my own bread, Facebook's page following shifted from Sarcasm page to Markandey Katju's page. Markandey Katju is a former Judge of Supreme Court of India and is quite active after his retirements; on his page. Reading him is a delight - agreeing to it is my choice. With more than half a million followers, he delivers his opinion for almost everything that is going in the current political scenario. From Kashmir to Pakistan, Triple Talaq to Samajwadi party's internal clash, MNS - Congress - BJP to CPM, he has answers to all.
I will highlight first the points he made for which I agree completely!
Regarding Pakistan : Markandey Katju believes Pakistan is a fake, artificial entity created by several British Agents, including Gandhi and Jinnah and the two nation theory behind it was bogus. Also, Pakistan will one day reunite with India under a secular government. I believe that will happen and the looking on the present condition of Pakistan, it won't be late when it will start burning itself with the fire of terrorism it has grown over the years.
Regarding any religion : Asked to comment on any religion, he firmly says that all the religions are false and the need of the hour is Science. When the rest of the world are progressing, reducing hunger and poverty, eradicating diseases, we are still stuck between the Quran and Gita and Bible. It's time to move on from the religious belief to Scientific approach. I agree to it, most of the educated (not from Madarsas) will agree to it.
About religious customs / laws : Feudal reactionary laws such as sharia must immediately be abolished and a uniform civil code is set up for all religions. Burqa and hijab should be abolished and so, Dahej Pratha. These religious customs have chained us to something that is thousands of years ago and keep pulling us back. Can't agree more to it, all these age old customs should immediately be abolished and if needed can be forced. We can't wait 6 generations to realize by themselves.
Political Party's Gundagardi : What MNS and some Hindu outfit like Bajrang Dal are doing today in the name of religion and customs, in the words of Katju, deserves a Danda. MNS people have created their vote banks by wooing Bihar and UP lower class people earlier, and targeting the Pakistani Actors in the name of the Deshbhakti is their new way of being in the news. The choices should be left to people who are associated in that field. I am an engineer and I won't go advising a doctor how to do a surgery.
Points I completely differ from what Markandey Katju said.
Today's Bhopal Encounter : Markandey Katju ends up saying the Bhopal encounter to be fake and all those responsible for it including the one who ordered it must be given death sentence. In one comment, he justified it by pointing out that Police can not be allowed to do Judicial Killings. I disagree - if you slit the throat of a policeman and you are already serving your sentence for several terrorist activities, that's the fate for you buddy. We must understand the importance of life, and to me the policeman's life was more important to the 8 terrorist killed. I am like, if the encounter is true, awesome; if it's false - still awesome.
Kashmir Issue : Though I agree to most of the part of what Markandey Katju said about Kashmir, some of the words are in contrast to what I believe. He says Kashmir is on the verge of a Guerrilla War to which I agree, but when he says the surgical strike was a joke and compares it to entering someone's house at midnight, giving him a tight slap and then running away, I somewhat feel either Katju is the past generation or I am still under-aged. Piyush Mishras song has a line - Ho daya ka bhaav ya ki shaurya ka chunaav,Ya ki haar ka wo ghaav tum yeh soch lo; selecting either the defeat or pitying on the enemy or scratching the wounds that we have got is the choice we have to make. I choose to retaliate. I choose to win. We are the seventh largest country, second populated country, rich in resources, have a cultural heritage and we feel proud about our country. Let's behave like one.
For now, these were all I could manage to write. I will come up with another article covering the points I missed here. Here's what Katju has to say for some of the points for which I do not try to waste my time thinking right or wrong :
Markandey Katju calls BRICKS submit in Goa a joke and Farooq Abdullah irrelevant in Kashmir. He believes Amitabh Bachchan has nothing in his head and Javed Akhtar is a poor writer, so is Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He believe (almost everyone in India now) Kejriwal is a fraud, and makes fun of everyone be it Bihari, Jats etc. He openly accepts that he wont join Politics and India is in need of a revolution. If you don't understand anything and act stupid, he will repeat "Hari OM" and if you offend him to a limit, he has a Danda for you.

Warning : You should know what to take seriously and what not. The problem with people in today's India is that they take the most unimportant thing the most important one. And, if you are Bihari like me, do not get offended by the post he wrote about Bihari. "Ignoring is a bliss."
